Changes to Blood Tests - 26 August 2021

Currently there is a temporary national shortage of blood test bottles, which is expected to last until 17 September.

Unfortunately, this is affecting every healthcare service provider and we have been requested by NHS England to pause all non-urgent blood tests.

We will carefully assess all required blood tests to determine those that can be safely delayed. We will update patients when more information on the shortages changes. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Order your repeat prescription online

Patients will now have to register the first time they use this service. Please click on the link and then go through the registration process. We are sorry for the inconvenience but registering allows you to use the full online prescription services including ordering repeat prescriptions and keeping a history of any medication ordered.

As per prescribing guidelines medications are only issued for a maximum of two months, certain medications are only issued for one month.
If you are going on holiday please request your medications well in advance.

Prescription requests take 2 Working Days to be processed. ***Prescriptions will not be processed on weekend***
If you should need your prescription earlier than normal please state the reason why you are requesting.

Medication reviews

It would not be right or safe for us to issue medication continually without the medication being kept under review. Consequently, a doctor will review your medication periodically and they may ask you to make an appointment to discuss it with them or they may ask you to have a blood test.
